Since meeting in Vienna in 2013, Paul Walter and Frankfurt-born Felix Rupprecht have built a solid friendship that has resulted in equally solid musical collaborations over the years. One of the fruits of this collaboration was “Chitlin Circuits EP”, the second release on Paul’s Meduka imprint in 2015 — now available on vinyl again.
‘Love Me’ (A1) and ‘Organized’ (B1) are exactly what you would expect from all-night jam sessions together: a fusion of Paul’s exquisite talent for creating twisted but straightforward minimal grooves and Felix Rupprecht’s love for broken beats and electro. The result? A full-bodied, often quirky, mostly cerebral and bold EP of unconventional drum arrangements, quirky bass lines, snappy drums, modular squelches, granular samples and computational synth equations.
